Hexagon Dishcloth / Washcloth Free Crochet Pattern

Hexagon Washcloth

Measures approx 8 1/2 inches across at widest point
Materials: Cotton yarn
                Crochet Hook Size H
                Large eye needle or small hook for weaving in end
Make magic loop (Very easy to do. You can see it on this video) magic loop


Rnd 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join with sl st in first sc, turn.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc, turn - 12 sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, 3 sc in next sc, * sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc; rep from * around, join with sl st in first sc, turn - 24 sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc, turn.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in each of the first 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * sc in each of the next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc; rep from * 4 more times, sc in last sc, join with sl st in first sc, turn - 36 sc.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc, turn.
Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc in each of the first 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * sc in each of the next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc; rep from * 4 more times, sc in each of the last 2 sc, join with sl st in first sc, turn - 48 sc.
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc, turn.
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in each of the first 4 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * sc in each of the next 7 sc, 3 sc in next sc; rep from * 4 more times, sc in each of the last 3 sc, join with sl st in first sc, turn - 60 sc.
Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc, turn.
Rnd 11: Ch 1, sc in each of the first 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * sc in each of the next 9 sc, 3 sc in next sc; rep from * 4 more times, sc in each of the last 4 sc, join with sl st in first sc, turn - 72 sc.
Rnd 12: Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join with sl st in first sc, turn.
Rnd 13: Ch 1, sc in each of the first 6 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * sc in each of the next 11 sc, 3 sc in next sc; rep from * 4 more times, sc in each of the last 5 sc, join with sl st in first sc, turn - 84 sc. Finish. Work in end with embroidery needle.

Pictures of turtles in the lake

I took some pictures of soft shell turtles swimming in the lake at the park today. They where eating some bread.

I know there was parsley there yesterday???

I went to water the plants and the parsley didn't have a leaf left! Upon a closer look, I discovered a bunch of
Eastern Black Swallowtail Caterpillars! at least five of them, just pigging out on the parsley.Well at least they will be pretty butterflies.

My Crochet Today Recycled Trivet / Pet Mat / Hot Pad

I love the way this came out. It was a lot of work, but i'm very pleased with it. 
It would be great not only as a trivet for your table, but as a pet rug for a small dog or cat.

This rug is made from recycled t-shirts which were purchased from my local thrift store that supports the area food banks and charities.The second picture shows the back of the trivet.It has a raised stitch so depending on your preference, either side can be displayed.

The t shirts where cleaned, cut into strips and then crocheted into this pretty trivet.

Little Boy on Etsy is having a fundraiser

I just bought some cute tags from a little boy who opened up a shop on Etsy today.
(his first sale) He is fund raising  for a mission trip to Mexico to build a house.
His soccer team will be going.
He only has a a few items listed (between $2.00- $4.00) I thought how excited it would make him to get a few sales. I don't know him personally. His mom also has a shop on etsy, so i'm sure she's actually handling everything for him.

Record Breaking High Temp 100 degrees!

It sure was a hot one today. I looked out my window and spotted a poor tree frog out in the sun on my trellis. I hosed it down and it seemed to welcome the cool water. It hung out long enough for me to take some pictures. (Notice the suction cup toes) It eventually found a little shade in one of my potted plants.

This eco-friendly tote bag was crocheted from cotton t shirts in shades of greens and white stripes.
Nice and roomy with a square bottom and two strong handles .
Would be great as a market tote or a beach bag.

They send you links to various sites to tweet about. Not very often, so you don't get overwhelmed. Once you write your tweet, they will send it out for you. They give you suggested prices to charge per tweet, but you can set your own amount. Payout is at $50, but I think for the few minutes it takes, it's worth it. I'm at about $26. and I've been doing it 2-3 months. I will give a follow up when I cash out.

They send you invites to do surveys (can be any amount) and occasionally send you full size products to give a survey about. I received a full sized product, and did a 5 minute survey and made $40 . That was pretty decent.
They do take a while to pay, but they do.

My Crochet Today-Hexagon Rag Rug

I just finished up another colorful hexagon rag rug. It's made with recycled t shirts.
The hexagon shape measures approx 56 " at the widest points, and 48" at the shorter points.Heavy and very durable.
