Something a little different Hair Snoods

I received a custom request last night for a hair snood. What is a hair snood you ask? Well they where more popular during the Renaissance era, but are making a comeback . They are also known as Tams. They are pretty as well as functional. The open work crochet allows it to be cool, yet provides a way to keep your hair in place. She will be wearing one to her sons wedding that is having a Renaissance theme.
I made a couple more after I made hers. I have them listed in my Artfire shop  

 

Some Nesting Birds

I took these pictures of some nesting birds. The man made nest platform runs along one of the main roads here in Florida. I don't know what kind they are, but are about as big as a hawk.

My Crochet Today

I only got around to making one of these hot pad holders since I am busy with guests coming over for my sons birthday. Maybe I will get to do some more tonight.

This is my first fabric rug made from reclaimed sheets.
I had these tucked away for years since they did not fit a bed size i had, I decided to turn them into a rug. I'm very happy the way it came out.
All fabric was washed before use.
Measures 36 inches across.

Just Finished Today 42 inch Rag Rug

I just finished another rag rug I made with t shirts. I really like how the colors came out on this. I used a thick black border that really makes the colors pop. It measures 42 inches across. Available at Debs Crochet

My Crochet Today

I've been adding some more solid color sets of towels to my Etsy shop.
Here's what I have done so far.

Big Spider

Well since I gave you a snake yesterday, here's a spider. It's called a Southern House Spider. Non poisonous, but a bite from it would not be fun.
This one has been harassing me, picking on me and even flipped me off tonight...well maybe not, but it's been giving me the slip just to show up again. It's about 2-3 inches long? I took this picture as i was on my computer and it stopped by right in front of me on the wall about one foot away.. Too close for me! It even looks like it's got a big grin on it's face!
I don't like to squash anything that could possibly squash back, so i had to look for some spay. Great it's upstairs..empty! Maybe some Windex will work. So I made up my "bug spray" that i had to mix in a Fabreeze bottle. I head back downstairs, and it's gone! Where, I don't know.So i hang out upstairs for a while and then i start back downstairs and that sucker climbed across the ceiling and was all crouched up in the doorway. I think it spotted me as it tried to flatten it's body far up in the corner like some kind of Ninja. I got you now. I go to bast it forgetting i used a friggen Fabreeze bottle so it just gave a mist. It thanked me for the refreshing shower, and it took off again saying "I'll be back!" I think it may have mooned me.
