Hood Scarf Crochet Pattern

Hood Scarf Crochet Pattern
Here's my pattern for a hood scarf. Great beginner project that works up quickly.

WW Yarn-2 colors
Size H hook
Difficulty: Easy
Stitches: Single Crochet (SC)
Chain (CH)
Double Crochet (DC)
Slip Stitch (SL ST)

Chain 25 plus 3 for turning chain (7 inches wide)
dc in 4th ch from hook. dc in each ch across -26 dcs
ch 3 dc in each dc across. Rep for length (100 rows) w/5 inch fringe or (107 rows) without fringe

fold in half,(wrong sides facing) sc one side together to form hood (10 rows from the top down)
turn hood scarf right side out
With right side facing, attach color B to bottom edge of scarf.
* 2 SC around each dc space (big spaces), on sides,(do not work in the scs) work 1 sc in last sc, 2 scs in next space (corner)
1 sc in between dcs on short edges
Repeat from * for the remaining 2 sides. Join to first stitch with a sl st .to first sc. Weave in any ends

I used about 1/2 of a big 16 oz skein of worsted weight acrylic yarn and had plenty left over. You can adapt this pattern to any size you like. Try using different types of yarn, just check your gauge.

Thank you very much for sharing your pattern. It is so cute and simple. I would also like to thank you for allowing us to sell the item that we make, I have been trying to make and sell items to save up money to make my mother's bridal shower special.

Wow I can't believe I found a simple hooded scarf pattern. It's great that you have two examples as a guide. I'm going to make me one & maybe I'll be brave and make one as a gift. I don't have my own website & I always respect those that do so when they all offer free patterns I make sure to give credit to the person & website. Thanks for sharing your pattern!!! It's really pretty!!

Hi! Thanks for sharing this pattern. Is this adult size or child size? I haven't made it up yet so I don't know.

Hi Veronica
It's adult sized, but it can easily be adjusted to fit a child by decreasing the amount of stitches in the starting chain. (width) and doing a shorter length.
