Current Work In Progress

In between making some more hanging kitchen towels, I have been working on a custom order for an oval rag rug. When it's finished, it will measure approx 5ft x 3 1/2 ft and have a solid black trim. I'm making it from cotton t shirts that i cut into strips then crochet them together.

I want to do something similar for my daughter's room. What width of strips are you using? I have some purple tshirt material that I bought ages ago and I want to use that. Do you cut yours with a rotery cutter?

I cut up the shirts with scissors in about 1 inch wide strips. After it's all cut up, i pull on the fabric until it kind of rolls around itself creating a "yarn" .
I'll have to see what a rotary cutter is. You make have discovered a shortcut:)

Thanks! People use them a lot in quilting and I happen to have a board and cutter and I love using them when I sew. Makes cutting fabric so much faster!
